As a nurse I wasn’t sure about this as I had been taught about medications for most health issues. I took an alternative health class in college and wasn’t really impressed. Today, I would love to try a lot of the alternative health options available. My sister shared a small sample of 5 oils and as I used them I saw a difference in the health of my children.
How did you decide to start using essential oils and become a Young Living member?
After my sister shared some oils with me and I saw a difference in my family, I started using them all the time in our home. We then started researching issues our family had. We now use the oils for everything from immune boosting, allergies, aches and pains, cleaning and freshing the air in our home and cooking with oils. We have started dechemicalizing our home. First we got rid of all the cleaning supplies and now only use Thieves Household Cleaner. Instead of freshening our laundry with fabric softener, we put our favorite oils on a wet washcloth and throw it in the dryer, our clothes smell great!! Our next task is the the bathroom with all the toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and lotions. Young Living has some great personal care products available. We are working on switching all of it over to Young Living products. You don’t have to do it in one big sweep, but in small baby steps, change the health of your family and home!
What are your favorite essential oils or products? How do you use them?
1. Thieves, it is such a great immune booster and helps us stay healthy especially in the fall and winter. We apply it to our feet at bedtime. We also diffuse it.
2. Joy, it makes everyone happy. We apply it to our heart before getting dressed. It is like perfume all day long. Even my boys like it!!
3. Lavender, to help with sleep and allergies. We diffuse this in the kids’ room at bedtime, every night.
4. I could keep going, I have lots of favorites!! Check out the Every Day Oils Collection, it’s a good place to start finding YOUR favorite oils!
